Laura was employed for 18 years at the Cluett-Peabody Shirt Factory in Corinth as a seamstress and also was employed as the organist at the Densmore Funeral Home in Corinth for more than 15 years.

Remembering Dorothy Moyer
CORINTH -- Dorothy R. Moyer, age 88, a former resident of Corinth, passed away on Nov. 17, 2009, at Maplewood Manor in Ballston Spa.
Born on Dec. 24, 1920, in Williamstown, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Sarah (Smith) Hoffman. She was the youngest of five children.
Dorothy graduated in 1938, from Williamstown High School. Following graduation and until marriage, she was employed as a secretary at the local high school.
On Nov. 16, 1940, she married Charles L. Moyer. They moved from Williamstown to Rome, N.Y., during World War II and then to Corinth in 1949.
She was a longtime, active member of the Corinth Wesleyan Church. Her faith in God was the cornerstone of her life. She was also a member of the Eastern Star for more than fifty years, holding office of Chaplin many of those years.
Dorothy especially enjoyed her volunteer work for the Adirondack Regional Hospital Auxiliary as its secretary and also in the hospital's snack bar until the facility closed its doors. She was an active member of the Emergency Squad Auxiliary for many years as well as a volunteer at the Corinth Community Food Pantry.
Dorothy enjoyed spending her time making crafts for church events, as well as embroidering and crocheting items to give her friends and family. Her greatest pleasure was as a homemaker placing her family at the center of her life.
She was predeceased by her parents; her two brothers, Mark and Howard Hoffman; her two sisters, Elisie McCord and Florence Hoffman; her husband, Charles; and her daughter of two years, Joyce Marie.
Survivors include her two children, John Moyer and Darlene and David Eggleston; and one grandchild, Isaac Moyer and his girlfriend, Holly Allen, all of Corinth.

He was predeceased by a sister, Flossie Denton and three brothers, the Rev. Charles Dayton, Dr. Wilber Dayton Jr. and Chester Dayton and son-in-law, Keith Tyler.
Surviving are two daughters, Mary (and William) Fuller of Corinth and Priscilla Tyler of Potts Grove, Pa.; three sons, James (and Judy) of Byron Center, Mich., John (and Lori) of Corinth and Stephen (and Dr. Nancy) of Gas City, Ind.; one stepdaughter, Marlene (and Bob) McCarthy of Moria, N.Y.; two stepsons, Keith (and Betsy) Brabon of Malone, N.Y., and Lyndon (and Lisa) Brabon of Huntsville, Ala.; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Paul graduated from Corinth Central School, Class of 1940.
He was a U.S. Navy World War II veteran (1942 to 1945) serving as petty officer first class. His military stint found him installing and field testing radar on Naval aircraft. He was a part of a pioneering project to perfect radar as a means of identifying targets on bombing runs. After the war, he chose to return to his beloved Corinth instead of embarking on an international career in technology. He and Chester Dayton were partners in Dayton Brothers Lumber Co., which he operated for 51 years before retiring in 1998.
He was an active, life-long member of the Corinth Wesleyan Church where he held many offices including Sunday school superintendent, Sunday school teacher, member of the board of trustees, member of the board of administration, building committee chairman, Young People's Society sponsor and choir member. In addition, he held many offices in the Champlain Conference/District of the Wesleyan Church.
Paul loved the Adirondacks including hunting, hiking, cruising and making his living from the forest. However, most important to him was his love, obedience and service to Jesus Christ.
The funeral was held Tuesday, Nov. 17, 2009, at 2 p.m. at the Corinth Wesleyan Church, 292 River St., with the Rev. Leonard Humbert (nephew) and the Rev. Dick Engert, officiating.
